Rule 5 Bikes

I started Rule 5 Bikes in 2013 having spent the previous seven years working in a variety of different bike shops. I felt it was time to do things right; I wanted my shop to be the one that I would use if I didn’t own a bike shop!  From the off I struck a chord with Mitre members, gradually getting to know more and more of you and your bikes. I provided neutral service at Hove Park Crits for a number of years, along with attending AGM’s, providing keen pricing and the expected level of skill, workmanship and passion.

The shop itself closed in 2019 and Rule 5 now operates from The Cycleshack in Lewes.  You can book any services, repairs or builds with me there – contact details below. For anything smaller than a bike – shocks, wheels, dropper posts etc. you can drop them off with me in Coldean and I will transport to the workshop in Lewes.

Jay’s Cycles

As an introduction, my name is Jamie Witham, and I’m the proprietor of Jay’s Cycles, a small but rapidly growing bicycle service centre based in Southwick. As a qualified Mechanical Engineer, with 7-years experience in the Automotive R&D and Materials Science Industries, I originally started Jay’s  Cycles as a part-time entity whilst working as a Technical Freelancer.  My aim was to provide the very highest level of service and to offer customers an extensive range of repairs at an affordable price point. We are now a full-time team of two, with a wealth of suppliers behind us, as well as being a fully certified Bosch E-bike service centre and a part of the Government’s Fix Your Bike voucher scheme.

We are looking to build new ties with local clubs to offer a range of discounts during the winter period. Allowing your members to have discounted access to our full range of services, as well as other upgrade options, throughout the winter period. Helping to keep their bikes riding like new during the harsher months.

Our current services are priced as followed:

  • Full Adult Service £50
  • Children’s Service from £25,
  • E-Bike Service £55
  • Di2 Equipped Bikes £65

We will offer all services with 10% off, as well as offering a 10% discount off any hydraulic brake bleeds, tubeless conversions, headset services, suspension re-builds and a range of other repairs/upgrades.

South Coast Bikes

  • Proudly serving local cyclists since 2003, South Coast Bikes is a unique bike workshop that offers free collection and delivery anywhere in greater Brighton.
  • We’re not bike snobs: we happily service everything from rusty plodders to high-end machines.
  • We hold over 1500 parts and accessories, so 9 out of 10 bikes can be sorted straight away. Obscure parts are easily sourced too.
  • Most bikes are ready the next day – and all our work comes with a comprehensive report and warranty.
  • Book online 24/7. Call, or pop in and see us 7 days a week from 9am to 5.30pm.

Rhythm and Bikes

We are mad about bikes and derive almost as much pleasure from working on them as we do riding them! Our shop on Lewes Road opened in April 2018 and we take on any job, from a simple puncture repair to a full strip down and rebuild. Our regulars already include several Mitre riders and we look forward to meeting more club members in the near future.

We would be happy to offer club members 10% off both parts and labour.

The Tri Store

Specialising in high-end road bikes, we’re a Specialized, Trek, Cervelo, OPEN and Felt dealer so have particular expertise with those brands especially their road specific models. We ask customers to book in advance so that we can aim to have the work done and ready for collection on the same day, unless we need to order parts.  We charge for parts plus £40 per hour for labour and only charge for the time we work on the bike so there are no set charges for jobs.  We typically book around two weeks in advance.
