It’s been a busy time in the TT calendar and the Mitre have continued to put in some excellent rides.
SCA 50
On Sunday 8th June riders assembled for the SCA Open 50 on course G50/10. This event incorporated the Veterans Time Trial Association National Championship.
Cris Coxon (1hr 44min 2sec) just pipped Chris McNamara (Sigma Sports RT) (1hr 45min 46sec) to win the event and also the Veteran Category and the Veteran on V.T.T.A. age standard. Other Mitres were Cosmo Derangi (1hr 56min 24sec), Donald Parker (2hr 24min 10 sec and Robin Johnson (2hr 43min 44 seconds). Cris, Donald and Robin won the Team prize. Well done indeed.
SCA 30
Sunday 20th July saw the SCA 30 on Course g30/91. Cris Coxon rode to an emphatic win (1hr, 1min 43sec which is a course and event record and a VETS course record) more than 4 mins ahead of 2nd placed rider Lee Williams (1hr 5min 53sec) of FTP. Cosmo Derangi (on a road bike) rode to 3rd in 1hr 9min 19 seconds. Along with Tim Houghton (1hr 16min 58sec) the Mitre rode to the team victory. Robin Johnson also rode (1hr 38min 37 sec).
SCA Centenary Open 15 incorporating the Sussex 15 miles Championship
This time it was 9th August. Tracey Williams rode to first place in the female category with a 40min 47 sec. Cris Coxon rode to 2nd (30min 7 sec) but 1st place in the age time adjusted VTTA. Cosmo (presumably still on his road bike) rode to 4th overall in 32min 24 sec. Freddie Hick (32min 39 sec), Jack Smith (35min 50sec) and Robin Johnson (47min 12 sec). Cris, Cosmo and Freddie rode to the overall team win, so an excellent day for the Mitre all said and done.
